How to Take Care of Your Paint Protection Film (PPF)

Installing Paint Protection Film (PPF) is one of the best ways to keep your car’s paint looking new and protected against scratches, debris, and harsh weather. But to maximize its durability and performance, proper care after installation is essential.

1- The First 7 Days After PPF Installation :

The car must return for a maintenance/inspection visit after 7 days of installation to ensure the film has fully settled.

During this period, do not wash the car under any circumstances to allow the adhesive to bond completely.

2- Washing Your Car After the First Week :

After the 7-day period, you may wash your car as usual.
At professional car washes, inform them that your car has PPF so they avoid using extremely high-pressure water, which could damage the film or lift its edges.
Avoid using leather chamois, as it may cause micro-scratches. Instead, use soft microfiber towels for drying.

3- Dusty or Sandy Weather Conditions :

If the car is exposed to heavy dust or sand, rinse it thoroughly with water first to remove particles that could scratch the film.
Once the dust is rinsed away, continue washing and drying using soft microfiber towels or your preferred gentle method.

4- Annual Maintenance & Warranty :

It’s important to schedule a yearly inspection to ensure the film remains in perfect condition.

At HD Auto, we provide a 10-year warranty, during which we check for any lifted edges, bubbles, or other issues to keep your PPF performing at its best.
